FUN FACTS ABOUT CASSIE: You will usually hear Cassie cheering you on from outside the box, as she is by far our loudest and most enthusiastic trainer. If you need extra help on a movement, she’s all about it. Just don’t ask her to do box jumps; you’ll get the “stink-eye.”

Cassie Catania is basically a Las Vegas local who loves life, family, and friendships. She had never done sports or any hardcore fitness programs for that matter, so when she was introduced to Crossfit in 2009, she absolutely hated it. When she said it was too hard for her and that she would try again when she got in shape, her friends told her that, “Crossfit wasn’t for everyone and maybe she wasn’t cut out for it.” IT WAS ON! She set out to prove them wrong, went back, and has been dedicated ever since! Cassie, who had never lifted a barbell in her life before July 2009, is one of the strongest ladies in the box. Today, she is mentally and physically stronger and more confident in every area of her life, and she loves all of the friends she’s made along the way.

Working from home meant we could vary snack and coffee breaks, change our desks or view, goof off, drink on the job, even spend the day in pajamas

FUN FACTS ABOUT JEFF: Jeff is a “Jack of all Trades”, and Ninja is one of them. He has eyes in the back of his head, so it is impossible to sneak up on him. And he can, and will catch your bad form from across the room. Jeff grew up all over the country as a “Military Brat” and is a “Jack of all Trades”. When he got older, he served 20 years in the Military and then over 20 years in law enforcement. It's safe to say, that when Jeff's around, we're all safe. In 2008, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and several other serious medical conditions. After treatment, he began searching and trying training/nutrition programs in order to alleviate the medical conditions that confronted him; that is when he found CrossFit. The variety and challenging nature of the many movements had a strong appeal to him, as did the Paleo eating. After doing his research, he decided that CrossFit, combined with Paleo eating would be the best way to go. And boy was he right! After one year, he had the best cancer checkups ever and if you ask him today, he will tell you that retirement, CrossFit, Paleo eating and the tight knit community at Outcast CrossFit are the keys to his improved health and he is confident he will be cancer free in the very near future. Today, Jeff is a CrossFit Level 1 Coach at Outcast who teaches the Foundations Class, making sure you are equipped to do the WODs with confidence.
FUN FACT ABOUT FRAN: If you are on the ground stretching or rolling out, Fran is known to drop her slobbery favorite toy on your head or stomach to remind you that you have not met your quota playing time with her. And she is the slowest eater on the face of the earth, so bringing her treats won't get you anywhere with her...JUST THROW THE DANG BALL ALREADY!!!!!
FUN FACTS ABOUT KELLY B: If she had it her way, we'd be wodding to Fleetwood Mac forever. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and chocolate is her cheat food of preference and one of her main goals is to stay married longer than Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Kelly B is from a small town north of Pittsburgh, PA where she figure skated competitively throughout elementary and high school. She discovered Crossfit when she moved to Las Vegas in 2004 and has been the epitome of hard work and consistency. In 2015, she decided to take some time off to have a baby and was seriously contemplating quitting Crossfit after her baby was born. It was very hard to come back; as she dealt with being embarrassed, hurting, and frustrated. But we're really glad she did, for so many reasons. She's a fulltime student with MS in Exercise Physiology, parttime professor, parttime Crossfit coach, and a fulltime mom, who really understands how hard it is to be busy and stressed and stretched too thin. But making time for Crossfit makes everything else more tolerable, balanced, and enjoyable. Outcast Crossfit is a laid back, supportive atmosphere and all our coaches and members perpetuate that feeling. I know everyone I come in contact with at the gym is going to be kind, motivated, and happy to be there that's awesome when you're coaching and when you're working out.
